Where are the Kids ?

"Mum's need Wine and the Nine-Year Journey"

… Jesus they could be anywhere. There we were the three of us, Juliet had to cancel; kids Dad couldn’t do the baby sitting. Typical.

Nine years in the making, and here we are, on the edge of something incredible. In this throwback picture from our very first photo shoot, we were determined to look as professional as possible. Those suits? Well, we can't quite remember where they came from, but we wanted to make a statement. Little did poor Gavin, our photographer, know that we'd bring our kids along, and Bettina's carnival workshop studio was overflowing with costumes and big builds. Chaos ensued, but as I write this, tears of relief are streaming down my face. Something promised by Incredible Thinks is finally becoming a reality.

There we were, just the three of us. Juliet had to cancel because her kids' dad couldn't babysit, of course. Typical, if it looks like fun they never can. Perl was about to dive into the paints, Lani not far behind. Crash, smash and clatter behind us were ignored largely because we substituted the tea quite early on for something stronger (I’d like to say it was wine but more than likely rum and coke).

Gavin (di Gavi), the patient photographer (and go to DJ), endured endless interruptions and questions about his equipment. Actually it’s It's 2:29 am ten years later I just rang Gavin to do another shoot but he’s going to hospital tomorrow, and I'm doing it—really doing it. And why now? Did I jump into this, or was I pushed? into this entrepreneurial whirlwind ? I hope Juliet is up there, laughing about missing our next website photoshoot. There's no way we're squeezing back into those suits. Well, maybe Bettina will try. - She’s still got it !

As for the kids Perl and Lani are moody teens glued to their phones, and Dylan and Tyler just turned 21. My God, how time flies. Can you relate? working single Mum’s just trying to get ahead back then was so so hard I hope you'll join us on this incredible journey.
